CONNECT PLANT-RELATED APPS WITH NURSERIES THAT CARRY NATIVE PLANTS
Native plants are essential to preserving biodiversity.
Many websites assist in selecting native plants, but don’t connect users to local retail outlets that supply those plants.
Native Plant Retail Catalog (“NPRC”) provides this needed nursery catalog data in a massive, API accessible database.
PLANT VENDORS
Retail Plant Catalog (RPC) enables nurseries to easily share their native plant availability data with many more retail buyers. The nursery simply registers the URL (Internet address) where their availability data is published. This can be as simple as a link to a PDF file. RPC scans and processes the data weekly, and automatically shares it with other websites that serve it to buyers searching their sites. It’s a simple, completely FREE process that can significantly expand a nursery’s exposure to the retail market.
ABOUT PLANT AGENTS COLLECTIVE
Plant Agents Collective is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is to support the development and use of open-source, data-driven technology that makes it easier to select, find and nurture native plants in gardens and landscapes.
We are part of a broad community of individuals and organizations working to preserve and restore biodiversity by facilitating the widespread use of native plants in gardens and landscapes. Plant Agents Collective contributes by bringing together interdisciplinary scientists, horticulture and landscape professionals, and software experts who identify new, collaborative technological solutions to advance the use of native plants.
How It Works

The API allows for third parties to access the data within the Catalog. This enables any web app to always have up-to-date nursery plant inventory data.

VOLUNTEER DRIVEN NURSERY CURATION
The Catalog database relies on automated scanning of nursery websites to determine the native plants they carry.
The initial registration of nursery data is driven by volunteers who curate the nursery level data (name, address, phone number, email, website URLs).
ANGEL SPONSORS

Plant Agents Collective greatly appreciates the significant, early funding provided by EBSCO Industries and the Mike & Gillian Goodrich Foundation, without which this website and the Retail Plant Catalog would not be available.
